About us

Two women, one home, the same calling to care.

Why Casa Swastha स्वस्थ sva (oneself) + stha (to stand firm)

Swastha means being established in oneself: a state of balance and fullness, far more than the absence of illness.

The word comes from Sanskrit and joins sva, «oneself», and stha, «to stand firm, established». In Ayurveda, it is the very definition of health.

The classical texts describe the swastha person as one whose doshas, agni (the digestive fire), tissues and eliminations are in balance, and whose mind, senses and soul are serene.

That is the path we walk with you, in every consultation, every treatment and every Panchakarma retreat.

We called it home because it is where you return to.

Who takes care of you

Hands that listen to the body. Presence that listens to the person.

Lorena Nemes

My story began in Romania, where my grandmother took me by the hand and taught me to listen to silence and to the wisdom of medicinal plants. Later, I wanted to understand the human body through science.

Life brought me deep challenges, and I chose Portugal as my safe harbour. Here I kept studying healing in all its forms, because I felt something was missing that cared not only for the body, but also for the soul and life's pain. It was in Ayurvedic Medicine that my heart found the real answers.

Today I bring together science, nature and warmth to help each person release physical and emotional pain, and give the body back the balance it longs for.

Water has always been part of me. I was a swimmer and a baby-swimming teacher, and early on I saw how deeply the body, the breath, presence and trust are connected.

Along the way I deepened my knowledge of the mind, the emotions and the patterns with which we care for ourselves. But it was in 2023, when I went through my first Panchakarma, that everything took on a new meaning: I felt health, clarity and a part of me that had been asleep return.

Today my purpose is to bring this process to more and more people, so that each of them can find more vitality, clarity and presence within.

How we work

What guides us, on every retreat

Listen before treating

No one starts a retreat without an assessment. Each programme grows from your story, not from a list made for everyone.

Time for each person

At most 4 guests with 2 therapists. It is the only way to be fully present, from the first day to the last.

Staying with you

The retreat ends; the journey does not. We follow your process for 3 weeks after you return home.

Shall we meet?

Everything begins with a consultation, preferably in person near Lisbon, or online if distance does not allow. It is the moment to tell us your story.
